Before you book — the honest part
- The crocodile bridge is a public lookout — free and quick. Hold onto your phone over the railing; that's not a joke, ask the crocodiles.
- Jacó is lively; Herradura is calmer and better for small kids. Tell us who's coming and we'll point you to the right sand.
- Rip currents are real on the Central Pacific. Swim near other people, respect flags where present, and ask your driver — locals know which spots are behaving that week.

How far is the beach from San José?
Jacó is about 1.5 to 2 hours from the San José area on the Route 27 highway — the shortest road to the ocean. That makes this the most relaxed-schedule day trip we run.
Are the crocodiles guaranteed?
They're wild animals, but the Tárcoles bridge is famous precisely because big crocodiles are almost always visible on the banks below. It's a quick, free stop — one of the best effort-to-wow ratios in Costa Rica.
Which beach will we go to?
Your call, and we'll advise: Jacó for restaurants, surf lessons and a lively beach town; Playa Herradura for a calmer bay; Playa Hermosa if you're a surfer. You can combine two — it's your vehicle for the day.
Can we stay for sunset?
Yes — that's one of the best reasons to do this privately. Shared tours leave mid-afternoon; you can stay for the sunset and sleep on the ride home.
Is lunch included?
No — and on purpose. The coast has great food at every budget and we'd rather point you to the honest local spots than lock you into a set-menu buffet.
